May 19th Pacer Run 5 miles (first water stop) SOUTH
With the Pasadena Marathon and Half Marathon this Sunday we will take things a little easy. I will be there to warm up the group on Saturday morning. If you are running the race on Sunday, Stay in bed, sleep in, and rest up. Relax all day Saturday and prepare for Sunday morning. It will be epic, amazing, spectacular and everything you have been training for. I am excited about going to the Expo. I am excited about going to the carbo load dinner at Spaghetti Factory, I am excited about about warming up the runners on Sunday morning. But most of all I am excited about running the marathon with the Pasadena Pacers. I am so proud to be a Pacer.
See you this weekend.
Run, you Pacers, Run!!
Ezra
May 12th 6 Miles!
6 miles you say? How can it be? It’s True! Only six miles. Enjoy it. Enjoy knowing you can run 6 miles with strength and confidence. Time to prepare for the Pasadena Half Marathon. Here it comes. This is the last week of the taper. I know you want to run farther, faster, stronger, but resist. You are all perfectly trained to complete the Half Marathon and finish with a smile and celebrate. Enjoy the 6 miles.
Unfortunately I will not be there this weekend. Work calls and I must take it when I can get it. Believe me, in this tough economy, I am fortunate to have work but I am bummed that it keeps me away from my most favorite running event of my week. I will see you all on the Starting Line at Pasadena (if not sooner). Have fun, and just know that I will be missing you all on Saturday.
Ezra
Cinco De Mayo! We will meet at the Del Mar Gold Line Metro station for the Pacers annual Philippe’s 7am. This is a special event and I hope you all can make it. We are all primed for this easy 10 mile run. The tour to downtown is an adventure. Please remember to bring cash because Philippes is a cash only restaurant. See you at the Del Mar Metro station.
Big Sur was awesome and I am really looking forward to Pasadena Marathon…with all of the Pacers!
See you Saturday,
Ezra
April 28th
Half Marathoners!
We run North (again) this week. Running 10 miles. This marks the start of our taper to lesser miles in preparation for the Pasadena Half Marathon. The turn around is Berkshire and Chevy Chase. The next few weeks we run 10, 8, 6, and then the Big Day!
I will not be joining you this Saturday. I will be running the Big Sur Marathon this weekend with some other amazing Pacers! I will be thinking of you.
Keep your weekly runs going and please take time out to stretch and relax. Running should boost your life not sideline it.
Please show your love of the Pacers by helping out with the GREEN CAN. We desperately need a new club tent for events. The only way we can purchase the new tent is with funds that we collect from the GREEN CAN. If you have and extra scratch (cash is best) please drop it in the GREEN CAN. We hope to have the new tent for the Pasadena Marathon. That mean we need to place the order in the next week. Thanks.
Mad Love for the Pacers!!
Ezra
April 21st

South 10 miles. Turn around is El Molino and Allendale
I MISS YOU ALL SO MUCH
I will not be there again this weekend but please post about your amazing runs and how you are feeling.
Ezra
April 7th run North, 12 miles The Big 1 2
You got this runners, you have been training for this. Actually I think a good share of you will be running the Hollywood Half, so you’ll be doing 13.1.
Start at the tables after stretching, run north to Chevy Chase (drink) keep running down the hill to Bershire. Keep to the left and then turn left on Descanso, Go up the long hill to the Descanso Gardens entrance (drink) turn around and come back to the tables.
I will not be there this week or next week. I am already missing you. It pains me to be away for 2 weekends in a row but it is what I must do.
I hope you are still reading this. The Pacer tent bit the dust in the high winds during the LA Marathon. We need a new tent and we want to customize it with the Pacer Logo (so cool). I am asking each of you to please help out with this cost by donating 5 or 10 bucks to the Green can over the next 2 weeks. If you can spare more, that would be great.
I will be available and in touch in cyberspace. email me with questions and concerns ( I love it). Run strong and happy if you are running Santa Anita or Hollywood Half this weekend.
I love you Pacers!!
Ezra
March 31st, Half Marathon Miles, SOUTH, 10 miles
turn around is Allendale and El Molino
We have entered our month of Double Digit running. For the next several weeks we will be maintaining a higher long run mileage average. This is to get you, your mind and your body very comfortable with the higher miles. You do not have to stress out about time, this is all about conditioning your body. So, if it takes you a while to complete the distance, who cares?
For the first 2 Saturday’s in April I will be out of town (thank you Passover) but I will be posting and checking in with everyone on Yahoo and Facebook. If you have any questions you can always email me directly. Ezraweisz@gmail.com
I look forward to running with you on Saturday. I love running with Pacers!!
Ezra

Really looking forward to seeing everyone in their Pacer Red shirts or the new Pasadena Pacers Marathon training shirts.
I missed you guys.
See you Saturday,
Ezra
Miles for Feb 18th
First, Congratulations to all the Pacers that ran the Chinatown Firecracker Run 5k and 10k. It was an incredible event and Pacers were everywhere. Big Thanks to Dave Ritchie for organizing all the preview runs on Sundays to get the Pacers prepared and ready to run the course. It really paid off, so many Pacers PR’d for the course.
If you are running the Rock and Roll Pasadena Half Marathon this weekend you should rest or run no more than 2 miles on Saturday. Also keep your eyes on the Pasadena Pacers FACEBOOK page for info on where and when we will meet on Sunday morning. YES, I will be running the Half on Sunday too.
For all the Pacers training to run the Pasadena Half Marathon in May you are scheduled to run 8 miles NORTH this week. The turnaround is Chevy Chase and Highland. There is a water stop there.
Please send thought, vibes, prayers, smiles, whatever you can, to our Marathon Coach Hilda. She will be running an incredible race, 100 miles!! She is Superstar Delux! I love you Hilda, We ALL love you Hilda. Run strong, and easy. One mile at a time. And if that becomes too much of a challenge, then one foot in front of the other. YOU CAN DO IT!!!
See you on Saturday Pacers,
Ezra
Miles for Feb 11th,
We travel SOUTH 7 miles. Turn around point in Mission and Fair Oaks.
Congratulations to all the Pacers that ran Surf City on Sunday. It was an amazing day, the weather was perfect and the Pacer Tent show hospitality to the Pasadena Tri Club and the SoCal Pacers. We had a great turn out.
Congratulations to Steve Smith Hilda and Mark who ran the Death Valley Half Marathon on Saturday. We had an adventure of a lifetime. One that we will never forget.
This Sunday is the Chinatown Firecracker Run. It’s local, easy to get to (ride the gold line) and affordable. It’s not too late to register and if you are a real procrastinator you can register on the day of the event. RUN IT! You will love it! I hope we get a nice turn out. Please wear your Pacer RED Shirt.
See you on Saturday morning!
Bring some scratch for the GREEN CAN
volunteer to help out with our water stations
Run strong Pacers!
Miles for Feb 4th,
We Travel NORTH, 6 miles. The turn around in the second stop sign (where the road splits) after the water station.
I will not be there this weekend. I will be running Death Valley Half Marathon on Saturday and Surf City on Sunday.
For those running Surf City, we will gather at the Pasadena Pacers Club tent to meetup, stretch and store our gear. Make sure you go to the Pasadena Pacers Tent and not the So Cal Pacers tent. But if you do, they are all very nice.
Have a great Saturday run and I can’t wait to see you at Surf City.
Run Strong Pacers!!
Ezra
Mile For January 28th
Half Marathoners, we go easy again this week, so enjoy it. We run SOUTH. Only 5 1/2 miles. The turn around is the train tracks on Mission. In the next few weeks we will be ramping up the miles. So enjoy.
I will not be there on Saturday to run with you (I will miss you). I will be in Anaheim with a bunch of Pacers running the Tinker Bell Half Marathon. Yes, I will be wearing fairy wings. Did you think I wouldn’t? We are gonna have a fun time.
Keep your training going, you are doing great. Please help out by volunteering for one of our aid stations or snack table. We could always use some donations for our GREEN CAN if you have a spare buck or 20. And of course, wear your PACER RED SHIRT.
Have a great run on Saturday and you can always find me on Facebook, so friend me. https://www.facebook.com/ezraweisz
Sat, Jan 21, Pasadena Pacers Long Run. We run Rain or Shine
To all those running the Pasadena Half Marathon this weekend have an amazing time!
Newbies to the training you are running 5 miles (the first water stop). This is a great goal because you will find water at the turn around, plus it’s a very easy marker to spot.
For those planning to run Surf City, you will be running 10 miles this week, the turn around is Chevy Chase and Berkshire (at the bottom of the hill)
For those running the Tinkerbell Half Marathon next weekend, you will run 8 miles (turn around is Chevy Chase and Highland)
I will be there Rain or Shine. I hope the weather doesn’t keep you in bed on Saturday morning. The best training you can do is to run in every type of weather condition. You do not know what you will get on race day so you might as well run in the rain on Saturday. You will not melt, you will not freeze, you will get wet. But don’t you get wet from being all sweaty anyway? Don’t be afraid of weather, embrace it. You will most likely have a great time running in the rain. Now watch, after all this it won’t even rain on Saturday morning, it’ll just be cloudy.
Keep a look out on the Facebook Pacer Page. I will be posting a run in Griffith Park for Sunday. Not sure what time yet but I am leaning towards 1pm. It’ll be for only an hour or so and I am hoping for a dirty, muddy and super fun trail run. Keep your eyes open for the info on the Facebook page.
See you on Saturday!!
Jan 14th Long Run
Half Marathon runners, here we go. This week we run 5 miles SOUTH. To make things easier your turn around spot is the first water station (“The Doctor’s Office’). It’s fun and beautiful to run along the arroyo. the only real challenge you will have is right when we start, it’s an uphill. Do yourself a favor and take the hill easy, speed walk up the hill if you like. It’s all about conserving your energy, not blowing it in the first 10 minutes of a run. On a note of safety, please stay close to the side of the road. Many runner feel like the road belongs to them, especially in the early morning. Keep a sharp lookout for cars. Some jerks drive faster than they should on the curvy arroyo and I want everyone to be safe.
Keep your mid week runs going. You can always join up with the Pacers on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7pm at the picnic tables for a lap or 2 around the Rose Bowl. It’s very important that you run during the week and not just on weekends. Resting and Stretching are also key components to a successful race come race day.
For those that will be running 20 miles with me on Saturday please plan ahead. Brings snacks and enough water/gatorade because we will not have aid stations along the route for our 20. I will not be starting early, I will start with the rest of the Pacers after announcements and stretches. I am really looking forward to running together and having the amazing Pacer support on the 20. Long, SLOW, distance. That’s the training for this weekend.
Please wear your RED PASADENA PACERS SHIRT
Please join the Pasadena Pacers Facebook page.
Please volunteer for water and snacks on our Saturday runs.
Please donate to the GREEN CAN
Please stay awesome!!
Ezra
Welcome Half Marathoner Pacers (Yes! I said it, Half Marathon). You are about to set sail for a journey you will love and crave more of. The Half Marathon! Some say it is the sweetest of the long distances. It’s fun, challenging and always exciting. This week we begin our training for the Pasadena Half Marathon and we start off very easy, only 3 miles (this is for the very beginners, some of you are already up to 7 and 8 miles). The first thing you must do is register for the Half Marathon and make sure you tell them you are a Pasadena Pacer!! There will be a tab that you can select your running club. Next you must go to Yahoo and sign up with the Pasadena Pacers Yahoo Group so you get our most current info. You can also sign up for our Facebook Page, just search Pasadena Pacers. I will be posting info here, at Yahoo and on Facebook so you should be in the loop no matter where you go. After you have done all that all you have to do is show up and run, it’s so easy.
January 7th, 3 miles North.
For more advanced runners or runners training for Surf City or Pasadena Rock and Roll, you should run 7 miles (no problem).
See you on Saturday with your RED Pasadena Pacers Shirts on!
If you have some extra dollars you can donate to the club please drop them into the GREEN CAN on Saturday morning.
Dec 31st miles
It’s the last run of 2011. We go SOUTH 8 miles. Turn around Las Flores and Mission, just past Garfield Park.
I will be running New Years Morning 8 am at the Autry Museum (it’s my Birthday and I love running on my birthday) If anyone would like to join me for a run in the morning please join me. Autry Museum parking lot in Griffith Park, across from the L.A. Zoo.
Happy New Year Pacers!!
I really do love The Pacers!!
Dec 24th we run 6 miles NORTH.
After you pass the first water station your turn around is the SECOND stop sign. That is the split in the road just before the big hill up to Chevy Chase and Highland.
Consider this you Christmas present. It’s manageable and fun. It’s also less than an hour and a half of a run so you will be back home and planning your special family dinners in no time.
I am looking forward to seeing all my Pacer friends on Saturday so please make sure you show up. It will help you manage all the holiday stress.
See you Saturday,
Ezra
Dec 17th Run is SOUTH 10 miles
Don’t be afraid, you can do 10. I know some of you have never done double digits before but you can do it and you will do great. This is to build up your distance so we need to go longer. Long, Slow, and easy. No racing, no rushing just enjoy the journey and the accomplishment of running 10 miles. Everyone will remark on your runner’s glow at all the Holiday Parties you will be attending this weekend. So I will see you Saturday morning.
10 miles SOUTH, the turn around is at El Molino and Allendale (it’s at the top of an incline but then you turn around and go down hill).
For those Half Marathoners that are training for the LA Marathon. I will be doing those miles this weekend with you. Here is a little advice from me. Bring an extra shirt and hat and a snack that you like (I like Uncrustables). At 12 miles or the return to the picnic tables, use the bathroom (even if you don’t have to) eat your snack, change in to dry clothes and hat, stetch your body out, maybe get your sholders rubbed and head out relaxed and ready to tackle the remaining miles. YOU CAN DO IT!! Also, get a good nights sleep.
See you on Saturday,
Bring money for the Green Can,
Wear your Pacer Shirts,
Smile,
Ezra
Dec 10th Miles: 7 miles NORTH
This week the tribes merge. No, I am not talking about Survivor I am talking about the Newbies and the Vets. We will all be running 7 miles North this week. The landmark used to be the “White fence” but that has been upgraded to a new “Iron fence”. It is half-way up the hill on Highland. You will see it on the left hand side, it’s the fence that’s fencing in …NOTHING!!
I will be running the Holiday Half Marathon on Sunday. I will also be running the 7 miles with the group on Saturday. I am looking forward to seeing you all.
Anyone that will be running the Holiday Half on Sunday I will keep my eyes out for you. I will also update the Facebook Page for the PasadenaPacers group with a meeting place. We have been invited to hang with the SoCal Pacers (they look just like us, red shirts and all). So plan to be spotted (with your Pasadena Pacers Shirts on) close to their tent on race morning.
A Huge THANK YOU to the Lerner’s for a lovely Holiday party last Saturday. Everyone look so nice and acted so civil I almost didn’t recognize anyone.
See you Saturday,
Ezra
I will make this super easy for everyone. If you are new to the training ~or~ if you are running aI Half Marathon next week (Holiday Half Marathon) then you should keep it easy at 6. The turnaround is the Train Tracks on Mission.
Experienced runners should up the miles from last week. So you all should be running 10 miles. The turn around spot is Allendale and El Molino.
Half Marathon miles for Dec 3rd!!
I will be running 14 – 16 miles on Saturday so I would be happy to show you the turnaround points personally if you want to run along with me. I run at a moderate 10:30 pace with walk intervals of 5:1 (five minutes running:1 minute walk break)
For those of you that did not get your “Bring It On :The Musical wrist bands, I still have plenty more. Not to worry. See, Christmas comes early!!
I hope to see you all at the Lerner’s house for the Pacers Holiday Party.
Please wear your Pacer RED shirts for your Saturday run
Please bring some Pacer Green for the GREEN CAN
Thanks for running with the Pasadena Pacers, we wouldn’t have a running club with “U”. We would just have a rnning clb. Dumb joke, I know.
Run Strong Pacers!
Ezra

Sept -17th miles GARFIELD PARK:
Mileage for August 20th (NORTH)
Everyone is doing great with the miles. Let’s keep it up. Proper training leads to happy running. This week we run 7 miles North. That is half-way up the big hill on Highland. There was once a white wooden fence marking the turnaround but that has been replaced by a fancy new metal fence. If I can get my ass outta bed early enough on Saturday I will mark it with a ribbon or something so you know where to turn around. I will be running 10 miles (I love double digits). So if anyone wants to join me I welcome your company.
BUT WAIT!! There’s more! If anyone is interested in joining me on Sunday I will be running at the Beach in Santa Monica. It’s an 8 mile run and totally worth the effort. This is a fun run and a great way to get in some extra miles or just to keep your body moving over the weekend so you can eat whatever you want. Burn calories, BURN! We meet on the bike path by Shutters Hotel (where Pico dead ends at the beach). Please be prepared to pay for parking, Santa Monica doesn’t mess around. Bring quarters for the meters or pay for a beach lot. It will be worth the drive and the parking. The beach is beautiful and it’s gonna be hot this week so the cooler running will be a treat. I hope you can make it. And wear your Pacer shirts.
See you this weekend,
Ezra
Mileage for August 13th (SOUTH)

Please invite your running friends to come and run with the Pacers. They just need to show up once and they will love the group. We are always looking for new runners to wear RED and be a Pacer.
Please volunteer a morning of your time to set out water or bring juice and snacks for us. It takes just a little bit of time but means so much to so many.
If you have some spare dollars in the car, please drop it in the Green Can so the group can grow.

Pacers!! (miles for 6-4-11) We run NORTH!!
I am so excited to be running with you this weekend. Here are the miles. I will make it very simple.
**If you are new to the Half Marathon distance your miles are 8 for this weeks long run (Chevy Chase and Highland). There will be water set up at the turn around.
***If you ran Pasadena Half and are training for San Fran Half, you lucky people get to run 10 miles (Chevy Chase and Bershire). The turn around is at the bottom of the hill. Get those hills in early in your training. I don’t know if you know this or not… but San Francisco is kinda known for it’s hills. Let’s get really good at hills. We have the time so let’s get started.
Please bring some cash for the Green Can…wear your RED SHIRTS..and help out Robert with volunteering to set out water for future Saturday’s.
See you all on Saturday morning.
Ezra
Have an amazing weekend. I can not join you this week on our Saturday long run. I am a single parent for the weekend while my wife is out of town. So be good to your knees, take a deep breath and smile while you run (even if it’s early).
This week we run SOUTH, 7 1/2 miles. That’s the intersection of Mission and Fair Oaks.
Have a safe and happy holiday weekend.
Ezra
Half Marathoners!! This is our weekend. The Pasadena Pamarathon and Half. We are ready to rock it. Please make sure you show up race day early. Look for the Pacer tent to gather, store your stuff, stretch and snack up. I am so excited. We may have some drizzle so wear something that can keep you warm and maybe dry. And layer up, wear some old clothes that you don’t mind discarding, just make sure you have your Pacer Red Shrit on. See you on SUnday. Next week we start the San Fran Half Marathon schedule. If you are planning on running on Saturday you will be running to the first water station at the “Dr. office”. (where arroyo meets Mission)
See you Sunday Pacers!!!
Half Marathoner Runners!! Pasadena Half is one week away. This week we do an easy 8 miles North. Turn around at Chevy CHase and Highland. So many medals and clanging. It was a blast. See you all at the tables at 7am. Please bring money for the Green Can and wear your RED SHIRTS.

I am getting excited about The Pasadena Marathon/Half Marathon. Next week we will be bumping up in miles. Make sure you sign up for the race.
Congratulation to all the PAcer that ran the LA Marathon on Sunday (including myself). It was a special day, one to remember. The greatest highlight of the race was the Pacer Support Tent at mile 20. The energy, smiles, hugs, and love was amazing. We are friends, runners and family. The best way to feel the love and support is to challenge yourself with a Half or Full and find out first hand how amazing it is.
See you on Saturday
Ezra
This week, March 19th, We run NORTH, 6 miles. That would be the stop sign that splits the road as you are about to go up the hill on Highland. I will not be joining you this weekend. I will be running the LA Marathon this weekend. I will be back next week. Run strong Pacers!!

If you want to make it easier run 8 miles and turn around at Highland and CHevy Chase. We are training for the Pasadena Half Marathon in May. Let’s make it a huge club race to participate in. See you at the tables Saturday morning.

You can run 8 miles (that’s Las Flores and Mission). There is a water station there.
Speaking of water stations, please volunteer to drop off or pick up water for our Saturday runs. We really need your help and all the runners will love you for it. See Robert to sign up for future weeks to help out with water and snacks.

Pasadena Pacers Half Marathon group:
This week, Feb 12th we will run SOUTH for 8 miles (Mission and Las Flores)
I will be running 10 miles SOUTH (Allendale). If you ran Surf City on Sunday and you are feeling good, run 10 with me and we will talk about the race. We will be mellow and chatty, and have an easy time with the distance.

Surf City Success for Pasadena Pacers!!
We had an incredible time yesterday in Surf City. Many Pacers PR’d (personal record) yesterday, we had some first timers, and lots of Pacers completing the California Dreamin Series. You should have seen the bling jumping off. It was like a Libarace concert.
I just wanted to extend my feeling of pride to all the half marathoners that trainer so hard for this event. You all were amazing and inspiriational. People are always talking about how special the Pasadena Pacers are. Well, you are the Pasadena Pacers (along with so many other incredible runners). YOU make the group so special. Thank you for pushing yourself, trusting yourself, believeing in yourself and supporting those around you. I am proud to be a Pacer.
Next Sunday is Chinatown Firecracker Run (10k/5k) so much fun, still time to register. Long run for Saturday, 8 miles. More on that later.
See you Saturday,
Ezra
Half Marathon Runners, This is your Big Weekend! Look out Surf City, here comes the Pasadena Pacers!!
Get to the expo, get your race packet. Buy something fun to remember your race. Then get home and rest and hydrate. We are going to have an amazing run on Super Bowl Sunday. You have done the miles, put in all the challenging training and it all pays off on Sunday.
Last week I injured my back but I will be there running the race with you all. The good Dr. Smith has been taking great care of me! I’ve been snapped, popped, stretched, scruntched, rubbed, cracked and electrified (and that was all on a first date). Things are looking good for me and my back so… I am looking forward to Sunday to go for a run and a new medal.
There will be a Pasadena Pacers tent set up where we will all met. Look for the flags and our Pacer colors. Do not be fooled by imposters, there is another running group out there calling themselves “pacers” and they also wear red.
Plan to get to the race EARLY, it will be crowded and they close the streets around 5:30am.
Email me with any questions (ezraw@bangstudio.com)

Happy New Years Day Run In Griffith Park
The details:
When: Saturday January 1st 2011, 8am start time (you can sleep in a little)
Where: Griffith Park, Gene Autry Museum parking lot
How far? 5 miles, 8 miles or 12 miles
Why? Because the Rose Bowl will be a mess and Pasadena will be difficult to travel to. And for a change of scenery.
I will see you there, right?
Ezra
Xmas Day Pacer Run,
Have no fear I will be there. Here is the deal, real skeleton crew this Saturday. No water and no snacks scheduled. Now that doesn’t mean we can’t have those wonderful things. So bring your leftover treats and goodies from Dinner or office parties to the picnic tables. It will be fun to see what show up. We will run NORTH this week. Most people are planning to run between 8 and 10 so I say let’s make it a solid 10. Double digits baby!! Please bring a water bottle to stay hydrated or surprise us with water bottles at the electrical box and Chevy Chase and Highland.
***The parking lot may be chained closed because it’s Christmas Day so look for a place to park and still meet at the picnic tables. We will stretch and start where we usually do

Pasadena Pacers Half Marathon runners
This is an easy week for you guys. You should run 8 miles (6 if you are still feeling a bit lazy after the RnR Half Marathon). Don’t worry, our training kicks into high gear next week as we start our official training program for the Pasadena Marathon and Half Marathon. Remember, we meet at Garfield Park this Saturday. I will not be joining you this week I am sad to say. I will be in Valencia picking up my bib for the Santa Clarita Marathon on Sunday. I look forward to seeing you all on the following week when we are all back at the picnic tables by the Rose Bowl.
I would like to thank the Pacers that came out to support my theater show, The Doubtful Guests, this past weekend. I means so much to me and I am glad you enjoyed the show. I tried to warn them that it would be dirty and not for the weak at heart. I was right, they got to see somethings that they can never erase.
If you would like to see our next show it will be on Nov 13th at 8pm in Hollywood. Here is a link http://www.bangstudio.com/doubtful-guests/
Congratulations to all the PAcers that ran in the Marine Corps Marathon last weekend, you ROCK!!

Rock and Roll Half Marathon 2010
Pasadena Pacers, this is your weekend! You have done all the training runs. You have worked through heat and rain and blisters and Gu’s. Now is your moment! Running the Half for the first time is a thrill you will remember for the rest of your lives. Enjoy yourself and take in every smiling face and cheer you hear.
I want to thank you for training with the Pacers and being a part of the Half Marathon group. I have enjoyed seeing your faces every Saturday morning and I hope I see you for the next round of training (Pasadena Marathon and Half in Feb). I will be thinking of you Pacers while I am in Atlanta.
Run Strong, Run Happy, Run to run another day!
Much Love,
Ezra
October 16th Long Run for Half Marathoners.
Everyone is running 8 miles. You can all handle that action. It’ll be easy and breezy. After our morning stretch we head South to Las Flores and Mission, just past Garfield Park, grab a drink and head back to the picnic tables. You are all so close to your goal race of running the Rock and Roll Half Marathon at the end of the month. That race is gonna be awesome. Start thinking ahead Pacers. Plan on running the Pasadena Half Marathon in 2011 and then maybe the LA Marathon ( the full 26.2) in March. Okay, for now just focus on the Rock and Roll half.
See you Saturday morning.
Ezra

Hello Pacers!! I will not be joining you this weekend. I am flying to NJ for my Moms birthday but I will be back next weekend. Have a great run and a great holiday weekend.
May 13th,
I will be running the Palos Verdes Half Marathon this weekend so I will not be joining the Pacers in Pasadena this Saturday. You will be running 7 miles NORTH this week. SO from the picnic tables run towards the rose bowl. The turn around is on Highland about half way up the hill. You will spot a white cattle fence on the left side of the street. That is the 7 mile turn around. Have an awesome run on Saturday. See you next week.
Ezra
April 30th 2010,
We made it to the end of another month. Training for the Half Marathoners have been in limbo for the past month but things are about to change. This weekend is the OC Marathon and Half, in 2 weeks it’ll be the Palos Verdes Marathon and Half and training for the San Francisco Marathon and Half starts next week. This week is a fun run, the annual Pacers jot to Phillipes for a traditional french dip sandwich. All the information is on the Pacers group site at Yahoo.com. It’s a little over 9 miles and you get to ride the Metro back to Pasadena. Unfortunately I will not be able to participate. I am dealing with a slight cold and I don’t want it to get worse before the OC Half Marathon on Sunday. Have a great time on the special Phillipes Run. Do not meet Saturday morning at the picnic tables (normal meeting spot) meet at the Metro station at Del Mar.
Ezra
Half Marathoners, you are doing a great job keeping those miles up. This week we will run 10 miles (double digits). So, from the picnic tables, running SOUTH to Allendale and back to the picnic tables. Looks like the weather will be on our side tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you in the morning.
This weeks long run we run 10 miles SOUTH (to Allendale). Bring hydration packs because it’s getting warmer. Looking forward to seeing you at the picnic tables.
Ezra
April 1st 2010,
This Saturday we run 8 miles NORTH. That’s leaving the picnic tables, up the hill to Chevy Chase and Highland and turnaround heading down the hills and back to the tables. Doesn’t it sound like fun? You know it will be. It’s always fun with the Pasadena Pacers. Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday morning.
If you do not have an hydration belt you should think about getting one. Get used to carrying your own water on the long runs. I have a sneaking suspicion that our trusted water stations will go the way of the dinosaurs. Consider yourself warned.
See you in the morning beautiful people,
Ezra
March 17th, 2010
We Run in 4 days. Get ready. You have done all the training. You ran 16, 18, 20, 22+ miles. Sunday is just another long run for your training. What makes this run different from all the other long runs in your training? (Sorry, Passover is soon). This long run is going to be one giant party with 25,000 people who all love doing what you love to do, RUN. Plus there will be music and great sights to see, lots of support, plenty to drink, and so many crazies. Enjoy the Marathon.
Here is a top ten list of my special marathon tips:
1. Lube up your feet. Put Vaseline all over those piggies so you don’t blister.
2. Bring a face towel and a change of clothes for after the race. It’s a long drive home from Santa Monica and you will be sweaty and salty.
3. Pack some toilet tissue in your hydration pack. Port-a-potty’s have been known to run out of tissue or you may need to make your own port-a-potty somewhere along the course.
4. Fellas, lube up the nipples or wear “nip-guards”. Trust me..Do it!
5. Bring a snack with you on the run or have someone hand you food along the course. You will get hungry and Gu won’t cut it. Half a bagel and peanut butter, pretzels, something.
6. Have someone special in your life write you a secret message that you can pull out and read when the run gets challenging. I have my kids draw a picture of me running with a “Go Dad,Go”. Reading that message can refuel your motivation tank. It’ll make your marathon day special.
7. Take a moment and remind yourself of how special you are or think of someone special in your life (living or passed) who you will take with you on your run. Remember how you got out there, running for months and months to train for this event. Don’t let the moment pass you by.
8. If you are running with a friend or partner think of some fun stories to share to help the miles pass by a little quicker. Remember how nice it is to run next your friend without talking too.
9.Clip those toe nails tonight, don’t wait for the night before the race. Get some good rest now because you won’t get any on Saturday night. Eat well now because it won’t do you much good to fill up on Saturday night.
10. Relax and enjoy the moment. Smile, a lot. Thank the volunteers and police force. Shine bright and run strong and most importantly Have fun!!
Rock on Pacers!
Much love,
Ezra

The following is a message from Dr. Steve Smith, Founder of the Pasadena Pacers:
We will be meeting every Tuesday and Thursday evening until the L.A. Marathon. I will be there every week doing Rose Bowl runs. We will be running hills and laps around the Rose Bowl. Coach Dave will be there doing 1 lap around and Robin will run with him. I’ll be doing 2 laps with a hill or two. The pace is easy and the weather is nice so come on down and join us! This is the first time our club has had a steady weekly program. We’re committed to helping the Pacers get their mid week runs and succeed at their next event. We are looking forward to growing this group and helping folks achieve their fitness goals. Last Thursday there were about 15 runners and they were just about the happiest group of people you ever met!
See you at the picnic tables in the morning.
Put some money in the Green Can.
Ezra
