Pres. and Vice

Hello all,

Today I’m reflecting back to when I couldn’t run a mile, nor wanted to run or even considered running 3 miles…, then working up to 3.1 & an occasional 6.2 but always dealing with shin splints, pulled hamstring & calf muscles… I was never fast enough & gave up running; it was painful physically, mentally & emotionally. Needless to say, I gave up.
Then came the Pasadena Pacers with the pre-conditioners, 10 Mile Challenge & all the fun group runs on Saturdays.

You have all been there to experience what I have, that is, great people who enjoy spending time together as a running group.
I challenge everyone of us, in our continued training, to inspire and encourage your fellow group members. It’s one thing to greet & yell “looking good” as we zoom by someone new to running or struggling with the mileage. But to slow down, answer, and accompany them through the miles, will make a big difference to that person & to you too. Volunteer to run/walk with the pre-conditionersor 10 Mile Challenge runners and be actively involved in a new runners progress.
I am a Pasadena Pacer because you have done this for me and, in turn, I will do it for others.

” It’s not what I can accomplish on my own, I have already proven it to myself, but it is what others can accomplish while I’m in their life…”

Thank you for being Pacers, for giving of your time, all of you leaders, coaches, and members!

Wil Godinez, VP

Reminders:Park away from the Rose Bowl Aquatics center parking spots marked “RBC,” get a Pasadena Pacer shirt, donate to the “green can,” volunteer to bring water and treats, join the yahoo group & bring your friends and family.
